The Ang Thong National Marine Park is a pristine archipelago of 42 islands in the Gulf of Thailand. It features towering limestone mountains, thick jungle, white-sand beaches, waterfalls and hidden coves and lakes.
The marine park has 4 distinct types of forest, all teeming with wildlife. Some of the creatures that live here are langurs (long-tailed monkeys), little herons, hair-nosed otters, pacific reef egrets, white-bellied sea eagles, sea turtles, iguanas, and pythons.
Koh Wua Talap
The first stop on this trip is to one of the biggest islands of Angthong, Koh Wua Talap, a real tropical paradise with pristine beaches, picturesque virgin nature and home to the largest population of wild monkeys in the marine park.
On Koh Wua Talap you'll have the opportunity to climb to the highest observation deck at a height of 500 meters. This vantage point offers a bird's-eye view of the islands of Angthong National Marine Park. We recommend sturdy shoes for the ascent. After climbing you can relax on the beach and take a dip in the cool waters for simming and snorkeling in the bay.
Almost every island in the marine park hides quiet bays with sandy beaches. For the most prepared travelers to Koh Wua Talap, there is an opportunity to visit the Lotus Cave, here you'll be able to see the unique stalactites and stalagmites of the cave.
After exploring Koh Wua Talap the tour heads back via a long-tail boat to the Big Boat where a delicious Thai style Buffet lunch will be served on board before heading to Koh Mae Ko the next stop of the tour.
Koh Mae Ko
The next stop is a visit to Koh Mae Ko, this island has a stunning beach and an inland saltwater lagoon called Emerald Lake (Thale Nai). You can climb several pathways and a wooden staircase to the peak of a nearby mountain, where you get a full view of this sea-green body of water.
The observation deck of the island offers a magnificent view of the emerald lake and the northern part of the Angthong Marine Park. You'll also have the opportunity to go down to the lake and feel how beautiful and mysterious this place is.
Here there will be opportunities to enjoy swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling and simply relaxing before the return trip back to Koh Samui.
